![]() ![]() ![]() This is the album that inspires my musical creativity. For me this is the pinnacle of Adrian’s work, be it with The Sound or solo. If you are a fan of interesting, experimental, exciting post-punk music, then this may be required purchasing. It is remastered and sounds clear, warm and thankfully isn’t a salient remaster. The disc comes complete with liner notes with commentary from Graham Bailey and others. However, this is a minor critique and Skylon does point to an interesting area that the duo was possibly heading towards. I’m not a big fan of extra tracks on albums but if Cherry Red were pushed to shove, then having the early two Second Layer singles: State of Emergency and Courts or Wars would have been suitably apt. One being that it is out of sync and does not flow with the rest of the album. My only critique on what is my all time favourite album is the extra track Skylon. The outcome is an album that is exciting, dramatic and monochrome. This is pure class.Īdrian Borland and Graham Bailey took the ‘feel’ of Suicide’s classic debut and added their own perspective. Drum machines or variations on drum sounds, blistering guitars, pulsating bass rhythms and attractive vocals. ![]()
